Ignacio Peralta-Maraver has just presented his research as part of Roehampton University Science Week on Ecological drivers of the emerged pollutant biodegradation in streambed sediments

He has published a review paper which can be downloaded and read free:  Interplay of hydrology, community ecology and pollutant attenuation in the hyporheic zone

This research focused on analysing the breakdown of ibuprofen through interaction with bacteria and ciliates

More details and a conference in April here at Roehampton – the 2nd European Hyporheic Forum 25-27th April http://www.bayceer.uni-bayreuth.de/hypotrain/index.php?lang=en
